Footrests

There is not one size fits all, when it comes to footrests. Adjustability in height and angle are essential to suit the individual users needs, to accomodate differences in body size, footwear worn & tasks undertaken.  Remember, not everybody needs a footrest & the incorrect use of one can be causal to or aggrevate existing back conditions.

At it's simplist, a footrest is utilised to assist those users who are too short in leg to achieve a correct sitting height at a fixed height desk. The angle should always be adjusted to match the footwear: ballet pumps are significantly different to high heels, in the effect they have on the users ergonomic profile.

To optimise comfort and support at the workstation, the footrest should be used in tandem with the ergonomic seating. Where a chair is used in free-float, the footrest should be fixed but when the chair is fixed, the footrest should be mobile. This helps to encourange movement and variation in the sitting position at all times, which helps blood flow in the lower limb. Particulary important for arthritic conditions.

Our range of footrests includes very high versions (upto 300mm) for receptions and counter desks, heavy duty options and multiple angle/height choices.

Features we like:

  • Adjustability in height and angle
  • Can be used in tandem with ergonomic seating
  • Encourages movement & variation in sitting position
  • Aids blood flow in lower limbs
  • Extra high, heavy duty & multiple angle options
